The event brought together representatives from the U.S. government, embassies, multilateral organizations, cultural industry leaders, and, notably, dozens of children invited to be among the first to experience this cinematic adventure.

During the event, the Colombian Ambassador to the United States, Daniel García-Peña Jaramillo, emphasized that "this film celebrates the beauty, talent, and production capabilities of Colombia. It is a symbol of the power of the Colombia-United States relationship and the creative potential that blossoms when we work together."

Actress Samantha Lorraine, who plays Dora, and Colombian Mariana Garzón, making her film debut as Naiya, shared their impressions before presenting an exclusive preview of the movie, which will premiere on July 2 in the United States and July 4 internationally.

Dora and the Search for the Golden Sun was filmed in locations across Bogotá, Cundinamarca, and Antioquia, including state-of-the-art studios, natural parks, and rural landscapes. The production is a milestone for the Colombian audiovisual industry, supported by pioneering legislation in Latin America that positions the country as a top-tier destination for international film shoots.

The growth is tangible: in 2023, Colombian audiovisual companies reported over $219 million in international business, with exports primarily to the United States, Spain, Mexico, and Canada. Likewise, the country went from producing 17 national films in 2013 to over 170 in 2024, including 74 international productions.

"This is a celebration of cinema, but also of dreams that come true when Colombia is the setting, the ally, and the engine of great stories," concluded Ambassador García-Peña as he invited attendees to enjoy the pre-release.
