Marking 204 years of Colombia–United States relations

Today we celebrate 204 years since Colombia's first envoy arrived in Washington, marking the beginning of one of the Americas' most enduring diplomatic partnerships, rooted in shared democratic principles, that has evolved into a comprehensive, multidimensional alliance, encompassing strategic, institutional, economic, and global cooperation.

For over two centuries, Colombia and the U.S. have worked hand-in-hand to strengthen regional stability. From those early diplomatic ties to our current extensive bilateral and multilateral coordination, our relationship has become a trusted, tested, and forward-looking geopolitical anchor in the Americas.
