Bipartisan Members of Congress and leaders from across the coffee value chain met to advance the Colombia-U.S. coffee partnership, connecting Colombian growers with American consumers through trade, sustainability and shared prosperity.

The Embassy of Colombia and ProColombia convened the inaugural Colombia-U.S. Coffee Dialogue, bringing together bipartisan Members of the United States Congress, leaders from across the coffee value chain and Colombian institutions to deepen cooperation on one of the hemisphere’s most successful agricultural partnerships.

Hosted by H.E. Daniel García-Peña, Ambassador of Colombia to the United States, the Dialogue brought together the bipartisan leadership and members of the Congressional Coffee Caucus alongside representatives of the National Coffee Association, Colombia’s coffee institutions and organisations representing every stage of the coffee value chain, from origin and importation to roasting, retail and consumption.

In his remarks, Ambassador García-Peña said: “Coffee is a bridge of shared prosperity between Colombia and the United States. Every cup represents the work of more than 550,000 Colombian coffee-growing families and a value chain that connects producers, exporters, importers, roasters, retailers and millions of American consumers.”

The Dialogue also highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between Colombia’s public and private sectors and their U.S. counterparts. Representatives of the National Coffee Association, Colombia’s coffee institutions and organisations across the coffee value chain explored opportunities to strengthen commercial ties, promote sustainability and expand bilateral cooperation.
