Ambassador Daniel García-Peña welcomed officers advancing to Lieutenant Colonel at Colombia's National Police Academy during their training visit to the United States, signalling continued commitment to deepening security and defence cooperation across the Americas.

Over four decades of security and defence partnership have strengthened Colombia's police cooperation with more than 15 U.S. law enforcement agencies. This institutional relationship has evolved into a hemispheric framework. Through the US-Colombia Action Plan (USCAP), established in 2013, Colombia and the United States have jointly trained over 63,000 officials across 16 hemisphere nations in capacity building and interoperability.
