María Consuelo Araújo Castro Sworn In as Colombia’s Ambassador to the United States

Foreign Minister Omar Bula swore in María Consuelo Araújo Castro as Colombia’s Ambassador to the United States, marking the beginning of her appointment to represent Colombia in Washington, D.C.

Ambassador Araújo Castro brings more than 30 years of experience across the public and private sectors. She previously served as Colombia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Culture, and held senior leadership positions at TransMilenio, the Bogotá Botanical Garden, and the District Institute of Recreation and Sports (IDRD).

She holds degrees in Finance, Government and International Relations, as well as a postgraduate qualification in Government, Management and Public Affairs.
