Ambassador María Consuelo Araújo met with U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South America Luis Méndez to advance the bilateral agenda under the framework of the Barranquilla Accords, established by President Abelardo De La Espriella and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on 8 September.

Discussions centred on deepening cooperation on security and the fight against transnational organised crime, alongside shared priorities in economic prosperity, trade and investment, critical minerals and energy security.

The meeting formed part of the ongoing diplomatic engagement between Colombia and the United States to advance cooperation across these strategic areas of the bilateral relationship.
