Colombian President Iván Duque expressed solidarity this week with Colombia’s American friends as event unfolded at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th.
"The Government of Colombia has full confidence in the solidity of the institutions of the United States of America, as well as in the values of respect for democracy and the rule of law shared by our countries since the beginning of our republican life.
The Government of Colombia vehemently rejects the acts of violence presented today during the counting of the electoral college vote in the U.S. Congress and expresses its solidarity and support for the honorable members of Congress.
