Colombia Expresses Gratitude for International Solidarity Following Earthquakes

Colombia has expressed its gratitude for the solidarity shown by the international community following the powerful earthquakes that struck the country on Monday, August 10.

At the direction of President Abelardo De La Espriella, Foreign Minister Omar Bula has remained in close contact with representatives of countries that have offered their support to Colombia and its people in the wake of the earthquakes. These expressions of solidarity come as the Government leads the national response to the emergency.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will work alongside Colombia’s National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD) to coordinate the reception of international humanitarian assistance in support of the Government’s response.
