Ambassador Araújo Discussed the Road Ahead for Colombia-U.S. Relations at the Atlantic Council
Ambassador María Consuelo Araújo joined the Atlantic Council for a roundtable with public- and private-sector leaders to discuss the road ahead for Colombia and the United States.

During the meeting, the Ambassador outlined Colombia’s vision for this new phase of the relationship, marked by renewed confidence and a shared determination to turn our strategic partnership into greater security, greater prosperity and concrete results for both countries.
Economic recovery and opportunity were central to the discussion. Ambassador Araújo set out Colombia’s priorities for expanding trade and investment, strengthening business ties and creating the conditions for greater economic growth, an agenda aimed at delivering concrete benefits for Colombians while opening new opportunities for U.S. partners.

Security remains equally central. Building on decades of cooperation and Colombia’s extensive operational experience, the Ambassador highlighted the importance of a strong bilateral security partnership in confronting the challenges facing both countries and the wider region.

The engagement at the Atlantic Council reflected the broader purpose Ambassador Araújo has set for her mission in Washington: to build on the foundations of the Colombia–U.S. relationship while taking it into a new era defined by security, prosperity and results.
