In what would be the 92nd birthday of the Nobel laureate in literature, Gabriel García Márquez, Netflix has announced that the book One Hundred Years of Solitude will become a series.
One Hundred Years of Solitude reaches the screens through the streaming Company Netflix, which has obtained the rights to this masterpiece of universal literature. The project has the authorization and participation of the sons of the Nobel, Rodrigo Garcia and Gonzalo Garcia, who will act as executive producers.
Finally it will be possible to give a face to the iconic Buendía family, who has come to all parts of the world to fill the minds of their readers with magical realism.
The project fulfills the two indispensable requests of the Nobel family; to be recorded in Colombia and in Spanish. Well, according to Gabo, this was the only way in which one could really transmit what the piece means.
It is hoped that this will be the way to make other facets of the country known, and that culture and roots will take center stage worldwide.
